Utah Auto Insurance

Protection when you need it most

For most of us, driving a car is the most dangerous thing we do on a regular basis. It’s such a normal part of life that we often forget we’re sitting in 2 tons of speeding metal.
They say, “accidents happen,” for a reason. According to 2015 statistics, every single day 96 people die in car accidents. 6,700 people are injured in car crashes each day. The only thing you can do about the unavoidable is prepare for it.

At Stratford Insurance Group, we don’t want these risks to make you think twice about hitting the road. The world is big and beautiful; you should set out and explore it. Find your adventure. Drive up mountains, drive until you reach the sea. But do it with the assurance that should something happen along the way, you are protected.

In most states, including Utah, Auto Insurance is a requirement. Driving without it, besides risking catastrophic liability, automotive, and medical bills, can carry a heavy fine. In some states, suspension or confiscation of your driver’s license, or even jail time for repeated offenses. If you’re still making car payments, it’s likely your lender requires you to have some minimum Car Insurance that we often refer to as “Full Coverage”, because the bank will need to be paid even if the car is totaled and gone.

But these minimums generally don’t cover the full cost of a major accident. For that, our agents will walk you through Stratford’s Path to Protection, patiently go over your needs, identifying the coverages you want, and customizing either a personal or family policy just for you.

Personal Auto policies tend to include a core list of coverages.

  • Liability Insurance shields you from litigation if someone else or their property is injured.
  • Collision pays for repairs to your car from an accident.
  • Comprehensive covers damage to your car not caused by accidents, say from theft, vandalism, hail, flood, or fire.
  • Glass coverage pays for replacing cracked or chipped windshields.
  • Uninsured/Underinsured pays for damages caused by drivers without insurance or with not enough insurance to cover your expenses.
  • Medical Payments covers injuries to persons in your own car no matter who caused the accident.
  • No Fault Insurance/Personal Injury Protection/PIP pays for medical expenses for persons in your car no matter who caused the accident, but also may cover rehabilitation, lost wages, pay for child care while you recover; and, should the worst happen, PIP often covers funeral costs.

Some optional add ons include Rental Reimbursement which pays for a rental car when yours is being repaired, and GAP Insurance for when you’re still making car payments. If your car is totaled, your insurance will pay out the current market value of the car, but your lender is still expecting payment for the full sale amount which is often much more than the market value. GAP Insurance will fill in that difference so you’re not left holding the bill.

Our SIG agents will walk you through all your choices and explain your Utah Auto Insurance policy in plain language so you leave knowing exactly what coverage you have. You may be eligible for discounts if you have a good driving record or antitheft measures installed in your vehicle. Our agents can talk you through other risk management options to make your car safer and reduce your premiums.

Having the right Utah Auto Insurance helps you get your life back to normal faster and easier following an accident or natural disaster. Our Path to Protection gets you back on the road so you can get back to your adventures.
